I was raised by scientists and academics but the influences of fine art were also prevalent in my childhood home. Growing up one of seven children, the house was always busy and we were encouraged to play, learn, and explore into any subject that interested us.

I had access to fiber, ceramic, woodworking, jewelry, and blacksmithing tools and at summer camp I learned to knit, weave, and crochet. I combine these techniques as needed to create my images.

I love working with my hands and have a deep appreciation for photography, character design, and stop animated films. To create vivid and three-dimensional illustrations, I hand-craft miniature characters and settings into lively dioramas which I then light and photograph.

By working in a physical medium, I strive to bring a tactile and classic feel to my whimsical imagery.
